A Simple and Nourishing Ramadan Suhoor

Suhoor, the meal before dawn, is a chance to fuel yourself for the day ahead. But if you’re someone who struggles to wake up early or feels too tired to cook, these easy and practical ideas will help you have a wholesome start to your fast without too much effort.

Scrambled Eggs with Tomatoes & Onions
Eggs are a great source of protein, and adding tomatoes and onions boosts the fiber and hydration. Simply beat your eggs, throw in some chopped veggies, and cook it all in a pan for a few minutes. That’s it—quick, filling, and Sunnah‐inspired!

Whole Wheat Flatbread with Labneh & Olives
If you’d rather not cook at all, grab some whole wheat flatbread, spread on labneh (a creamy yogurt cheese), and top with olives. It’s loaded with protein, healthy fats, and carbs. Plus, bread and olives have a special place in the Sunnah.

Fava Beans
Canned fava beans make life easy. Just warm them up with a bit of salt and olive oil. Packed with fiber and protein, they’ll keep you full for hours. The Prophet (peace be upon him) mentioned beans as a beneficial food.

Overnight Chia Pudding
Perfect for lazy mornings—you prepare it the night before! Mix chia seeds, yogurt, a spoonful of honey, and maybe some protein powder or chopped almonds. Let it sit in the fridge, and wake up to a ready‐to‐eat pudding. Honey is also beloved in the Qur’an for its healing properties.

Lebanese Bread Sandwich with Eggs, Veggies & Avocado
This is another quick fix. Make or heat some scrambled eggs and stuff them in a Lebanese flatbread along with sliced avocado and any veggies you have. Avocado’s healthy fats help you stay energized longer.

Cucumber & Tomato Salad with Olive Oil
Finally, if you want something super light, chop cucumbers and tomatoes, drizzle olive oil, and add a pinch of salt. It’s refreshing, hydrating, and follows the Prophet’s encouragement to eat fresh foods.

Each of these meals is easy to prepare, even if you’re half‐asleep. Don’t forget to drink plenty of water during Suhoor, and remember that nourishing your body can also be an act of worship in Ramadan. Enjoy your simple yet satisfying start to the fasting day!
